From December 31, 2024, to January 13, 2025, the 18th iteration of the Indo-Nepal Joint Military Exercise Surya Kiran is presently taking place in Saljhandi, Nepal. This yearly exercise, which focuses mostly on counterterrorism and operations in difficult terrain, is evidence of the close military ties between India and Nepal.
