As part of the India Pavilion, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is actively taking part in the Indo-Defence 2025 exhibition, which will take place at the JIExpo Kemayoran in Jakarta, Indonesia, from June 11 to 14.
DRDO uses this worldwide event as a strategic platform to showcase India’s most recent defense technological developments, enhancing its standing as a world leader in domestic defense research and development.
The ASTRA MK-I air-to-air missile, the Remotely Operated Vehicle Daksh for handling hazardous materials, the Low Frequency Dunking Sonar (LFDS-X) for anti-submarine warfare, the Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system, the Wheeled Armoured Platform (WhAP) for increased battlefield mobility, the Varunastra Heavy Weight Torpedo for naval operations, and the Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile are just a few of the state-of-the-art technologies that DRDO is showcasing at Indo-Defence 2025. These technologies demonstrate the depth of India’s defense capabilities.
These systems demonstrate DRDO’s integrated strategy for air, sea, and land combat as well as its dedication to independence through the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” program.
International representatives and business executives can directly view India’s defense advancements at the India Pavilion, which is housed in Hall F-46. In addition to showcasing DRDO’s technological capabilities, the expo advances India’s strategic goal of building a strong defense industry ecosystem with active involvement from the public and commercial sectors.
To further boost the local defense industrial base, DRDO’s Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE) has transferred the technology of nine systems to 10 Indian firms. At a ceremony held at VRDE, the transfer was officially announced in front of Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO. To further demonstrate DRDO’s dedication to academia-industry partnerships for innovation, VRDE has inked an MOU with COEP Technological University, Pune, to work together on cutting-edge research and new technologies.
DRDO and industry partners were complimented for successfully deploying indigenous systems during Operation Sindoor by Dr. Kamat, who also stressed the importance of industry planning for surge capacity in defense production. Additionally, he recognized VRDE’s efforts to the provision of top-tier land systems and weapon platform solutions.
DRDO has opened the Quantum Technology Research Centre (QTRC) at Metcalfe House in Delhi, further bolstering India’s defense R&D. This laboratory has advanced experimental settings for quantum research, such as developing quantum key distribution methods, evaluating single-photon sources, and characterizing advanced lasers. In order to ensure national security in the post-quantum age, the QTRC seeks to advance India’s capabilities in strategic quantum technologies and ultra-secure communications.
In addition to showcasing India’s cutting-edge defense technologies, DRDO’s participation in Indo-Defence 2025 in Jakarta also demonstrates the nation’s advancements in self-reliance, strong industrial alliances, and leadership in cutting-edge fields like quantum technology. This extensive exhibit highlights DRDO’s critical role in promoting domestic innovation and establishes India as a major actor in the global defense scene.
