Aero India 2025, taking place from February 10 to 14 at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, will focus on large technology transfer deals over ₹75,000 crore. This edition of Asia’s largest aerospace show intends to build on the success of past events, which have resulted in significant collaborations and breakthroughs in the defence industry.
The military Ministry has declared that Aero India 2025 targets for technology transfer transactions worth over ₹75,000 crore, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving indigenous manufacturing capabilities in military and aerospace industries.
Event Structure: The first three days will be business-oriented, promoting collaborations between Indian and international enterprises, while the last two days will be accessible to the public, featuring air shows and sophisticated military platform exhibits.
Focus on Start-ups and Innovation: A separate iDEX pavilion will display innovations from Indian start-ups, in line with the Make in India policy. This emphasises India’s developing potential in indigenous innovation and seeks to encourage investment in domestic manufacturing.
Global Participation: The event is expected to draw top defence firms and delegations from across the world, promoting international collaborations and highlighting India’s potential as a global aerospace powerhouse.
Seminars and Discussions: Several seminars are planned to address crucial issues in the aerospace sector, including a defence ministers’ conclave aimed at improving international defence cooperation.
Defence Ministers’ Conclave: A forum for strategic conversations with representatives from friendly countries to strengthen international defence cooperation.
CEOs’ Roundtable: This event will promote discussions between global CEOs and Indian industry leaders, with an emphasis on increasing manufacturing prospects in India.
Exhibitions and Air Shows: The first three days will be business-oriented, displaying military systems and technology, with the final two days available to the public for air displays and exhibitions.
Aero India 2025 seeks to expand on the success of its previous event in 2023, which drew over 700,000 people and had 809 exhibitors. The event resulted in approximately 250 agreements and 201 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) for technology transfers totalling ₹75,000 crore.
The Ministry of Defence emphasises that this year’s event will not only exceed previous successes, but will also highlight the promotion of Indian start-ups in the aerospace industry.
