India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke with his Israeli colleague, Israel Katz, on Sunday amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. India expressed concern about the broader regional situation and the two promised to keep in touch.

The Times of Israel, citing an Iranian news source, stated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy apprehended the MSC ARIES container ship, which was connected to Israel, on Saturday afternoon close to the Strait of Hormuz.

The Times of Israel reports that the MSC Aries was last observed on Friday as it made her way off the coast of Dubai towards the Strait of Hormuz. As per the ship tracking website, Marine Traffic, the vessel is presently traversing the Persian Gulf.
