It’s critical to learn from war and avoid making the same mistakes twice. CDS at the Kargil Event

In addition to praising the valor of Indian heroes in the Kargil fight, CDS Gen. Anil Chauhan said Thursday that it’s crucial to consider the aftermath of a war and derive the “right lessons” for the future. “We must not repeat the same mistakes” was another statement he made while speaking at a celebration commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Kargil conflict.

The nature of battle and combat is changing at an extremely fast rate. He claimed that because of continuous geopolitical instability and technological advancements, their nature and character are changing quickly.

“The memories of sacrifices made by our soldiers must become a part of our national folklore, as indeed it has become with the Kargil war,” Gen. Chauhan stated.

Future generations of young people and troops enlisting in the Indian military must be inspired by saga, bravery, and fortitude, the CDS stated.

In addition to bringing up memories of conflict, he said, it’s critical to examine its aftermath and derive practical lessons for the future.
