The Indian Army and Axiscades Aerospace Sign a ₹223.95 Cr Agreement for Next-Gen 50-Ton Tank Transporter Trailers

Axiscades Aerospace and Technologies Private Limited and the Indian Army inked a major contract on August 1, 2025, for the purchase of 212 cutting-edge 50-ton tank transporter trailers, valued at ₹223.95 crore.

Tanks and other armored (A) vehicles can be transported quickly and effectively thanks to these trailers’ steerable and liftable axles and hydraulic/pneumatic loading ramps.

Under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category, this agreement was completed, highlighting the Indian Army’s dedication to indigenization and support for the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, which seeks to promote independence in defense production.

Modern features like hydraulic and pneumatic loading ramps allow tanks and other armored vehicles to be loaded and unloaded quickly in these next-generation tank transporter trailers.

Additionally, they feature liftable and steerable axles, which improve mobility and enable effective transportation over a variety of difficult terrains. It is anticipated that these cutting-edge mobility technologies will greatly improve the field army’s operational and logistical capabilities, serving as a force multiplier by facilitating the quick and effective movement of heavy armored units.

Along with promising long-term job creation and supporting initiatives to develop strong domestic defense capabilities for upcoming challenges, the procurement also represents a significant boost for India’s defense industrial ecosystem.

The agreement with Axiscades Aerospace supports India’s overarching strategic objective of enhancing its independence in defense manufacture and technology.
