For their next trip to the Shree Katas Raj Temples, 84 Indian pilgrims have been granted visas by the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. These pilgrims are able to engage in religious rites at this important Hindu site in Chakwal, Pakistan, thanks to this program. The visas are good from December 19 to December 25, 2024, which is a seven-day period.
The Hindu community in Pakistan regards Katas Raj as one of the holiest sites. The complex of temples encircles Katas Pond, which is considered sacred by the followers.
Thousands of Sikh and Hindu pilgrims from India travel to Pakistan annually to participate in a variety of religious festivals and events, in accordance with the 1974 Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, the statement added.
This action is a component of continuous initiatives to promote religious travel and deepen India-Pakistan cultural links. The granting of these visas demonstrates a dedication to fostering interfaith cooperation and is consistent with other arrangements made for groups of Indian pilgrims visiting different religious sites in Pakistan.
