Russian President Vladimir Putin claims that “many states show interest in BRICS.”

During his yearly press conference on December 19, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin recently highlighted the growing interest in the BRICS economic partnership. He emphasized how many nations are keen to join the association, which is distinguished by its core values of respect and reciprocity among its members. According to Putin, “The association is developing rapidly… Many states show interest in BRICS because this work is built solely on the basis of reciprocity and respect for each other and each other’s interests” .

He went into further detail on BRICS’s collaborative approach, pointing out that all member countries, regardless of size or degree of development, have an equal voice because decisions are decided by consensus within the group. This strategy increases the bloc’s worldwide influence and cultivates a shared interest in economic progress.

Putin said that more than 30 nations have shown interest in collaborating with BRICS, demonstrating the organization’s growing function as a check on Western-dominated economic systems. Leaders from a wide range of countries attended the latest summit in Kazan, highlighting the bloc’s importance on the international scene.
