Defense Ministry: A number of DRDO systems are in the “final stages” of user evaluation or development trials.

According to the Defense Ministry, the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) of India is now developing a number of systems that are in the “final stages” of user evaluation or development trials. This development shows that India’s defense technology capabilities have advanced significantly.

According to the DRDO, user assessment and development trials for a number of systems are either finished or almost finished. Among the specific systems listed are:

The DRDO chairman pointed out that two major projects, the establishment of a Missile Test Range in Nagayalanka, Andhra Pradesh, and the Full Scale Engineering Development (FSED) of the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), had been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS). About ₹1.10 lakh crore was the total value of projects approved in 2024.

With 256 licensing agreements inked in 2024 alone and approximately 1,950 inventions transferred to Indian industry, the organization has made significant progress in technology transfer. Last year, more than 19 manufacturing and development partners were involved in a number of initiatives.

In order to speed up development efforts, the DRDO seeks to improve cooperation with businesses and academic institutions. About 80 projects are now in progress, and more approvals are anticipated shortly.

This breakthrough demonstrates DRDO’s dedication to enhancing India’s defense capabilities through domestic development and cooperation with academic institutions and the corporate sector.
