Drones and drugs have been recovered in large quantities as a result of the Border Security Force’s (BSF) recent escalation of raids along the Punjab border. These are the main advancements:
Over the weekend, the BSF recovered four drones in a series of operations. Among them were:
In the Amritsar district, a single DJI Magic 3 Classic drone was discovered in a field of crops close to Rattankhurd hamlet.
Along with suspected heroin packs, two DJI AIR 3S drones were found in Dal village, Tarn Taran district.
In the Amritsar area, a single DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone was discovered in a field close to Dariya Musa hamlet.
Heroin Seizures: Two consignments of heroin, measuring 558 and 613 grams, respectively, were also confiscated by the BSF. These sachets were found with copper wire loops attached and wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, suggesting that they were probably meant for smuggling.
Current Trends: The BSF has reported recovering numerous drones and sizable amounts of drugs near the Indo-Pak border, which is part of a larger trend that includes this operation. Five drones and other heroin shipments were confiscated in the last week alone, demonstrating the continuous threat presented by cross-border smuggling.
These actions demonstrate the BSF’s proactive efforts to counter illegal drone operations and drug trafficking near the border, both of which are frequently connected to organized smuggling networks.
