The Indian Army has awarded Ashok Leyland, a flagship company of the Hinduja Group, defence contracts totalling more than ₹700 crore. Under the Close-in Weapon Systems (CIWS) program, these orders are intended to meet the needs for specialised mobility, logistics, and troop transportation.

The Mobility System Travelling Platform, Short Chassis Bus, and Stallion 4×4 and 6×6 trucks are among the vehicles that will be provided. These vehicles are built to function flawlessly in challenging terrains and have exceptional off-road capabilities and dependability.

Ashok Leyland’s MD and CEO, Shenu Agarwal, expressed delight in securing these orders, highlighting the company’s leadership in defence mobility solutions and dedication to providing innovative solutions for the military.

The company’s commitment to India’s self-reliance strategy, Atmanirbhar Bharat, was reiterated by Amandeep Singh, President of Defence Business, who also emphasised the strong prospective pipeline for defence orders. The Indian Army’s biggest provider of logistics vehicles is acknowledged to be Ashok Leyland.
