A new class of huge replenishment ships called the Fleet Support Ships (FSS) was created by the Indian Navy to improve its operating capabilities. According to a Kongsberg publication, naval ships’ modern electric RAS system is essential for long-duration missions.
For its Fleet Support Ships program, Kongsberg Maritime has contracted with Hindustan Shipbuilding Limited (HSL) to deliver its electric replenishment-at-sea equipment.
