NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh criticised Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after his resignation.

The leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party (NDP), Jagmeet Singh, has strongly criticised Prime Minister Justin Trudeau following his resignation announcement. Singh claimed that Trudeau has continually failed Canadians, particularly on important issues like housing affordability, grocery costs, and healthcare changes. He emphasised that the Liberal Party does not deserve another opportunity to rule, regardless of who succeeds Trudeau as leader.

Singh expressed his concerns on social media, writing, “Justin Trudeau has failed you down, again and over. He failed to meet your expectations on the expense of housing and groceries. He failed to fix health care as promised. It does not matter who leads the Liberals. “They do not deserve another chance.” Singh’s comments reflect a larger dissatisfaction with the Liberal government’s performance, which he feels prioritises corporate interests over the concerns of regular Canadians.

Singh also seized the opportunity to criticise the Conservative Party, accusing it of prioritising CEOs over working-class Canadians. He asked voters to embrace the NDP as a viable option that will address their needs and concerns. His remarks come in a political climate in which many Canadians are dissatisfied with the present government’s handling of economic and social concerns.
