The Vice Chief of the Indian Army, Lieutenant General Subramani, recently took part in the Vietnam People’s Army’s 80th anniversary celebrations, which included a memorial service for former Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh. He lay a wreath at Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum in Hanoi to commemorate the leader’s important achievements to Vietnam’s revolutionary history and the formation of its armed forces.
The anniversary commemorated the establishment of Vietnam’s army on December 22, 1944, making it a momentous occasion. Leading Vietnamese officials also visited Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum during this time, acknowledging his contribution to the development of the country’s armed forces and its past triumphs over colonial and imperial powers. The festivities emphasized Vietnam’s continued dedication to peace and international collaboration in addition to its military accomplishments.
The VCOAS began his visit on Thursday by seeing the India Pavilion and other exhibits at the Vietnam International Defence Expo (VIDE), which showcases India’s contributions to defense innovation and technology.
He also saw Vietnam’s rich cultural and historical legacy at the Temple of Literature and the Military History Museum in Hanoi. He also had a meeting with India’s ambassador to Vietnam, Sandeep Arya, during this period to talk about issues of cooperation and shared interest.
