33 ITBP Posts Moved Forward Along China LAC: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has advanced 33 of the 56 border stations planned for the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. This move is intended to improve security and operational readiness in response to current tensions in the region.
In addition to the newly constructed stations, six more battalions have been sent to strengthen the ITBP’s presence on the border. This deployment is part of a bigger effort to reinforce India’s border security infrastructure in the face of China’s increased military activity.
The decision to advance these stations and deploy additional battalions comes in the wake of China’s military buildup and frequent intrusions into Indian territory. The ITBP’s mission is critical since it controls a substantial portion of the India-China border, which measures around 3,488 km.
The ITBP, established in the aftermath of the 1962 Chinese incursion, is primarily responsible for protecting the 3,488-kilometer-long LAC with China, in addition to performing a number of internal security functions.
These initiatives demonstrate India’s determination to retain a strong defence posture along its northern border, especially in view of recent geopolitical problems.
