The invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron to co-chair the forthcoming Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit in France has been formally accepted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This involvement was announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) at a press conference on January 31, 2025.
According to MEA spokeswoman Randhir Jaiswal, representatives from a range of industries, including government, academia, and civil society, will meet at the Grand Palais in Paris from February 10–11.
By addressing important topics including sustainability, ethical AI use, and the potential for AI to serve the public interest, the summit seeks to promote global discussion on AI governance and its ramifications. Nearly 1,000 people are anticipated to attend, including heads of state and officials from the commercial sector and international organizations.
Discussions at the conference will center on important topics such how AI technologies affect the environment, inclusive governance tactics, and international cooperation in using AI to address global issues. India has a great chance to demonstrate its AI developments at this event and fortify its collaborations in technological development.
