After 31 weeks of training, 293 Agniveers are recruited into the Army.

After completing their 31-week military training, 293 Agniveers have been formally enlisted in the Indian Army. The systematic curriculum of this training program, which started on January 2, 2023, is intended to prepare these young troops for a variety of military tasks.

Ten weeks of Basic Military Training (BMT) and twenty-one weeks of Advanced Military Training (AMT), which is customized for particular arms and services, make up the 31-week program.

Agniveers receive six weeks more of hands-on instruction in their units following the first training.

Along with promoting an awareness of the Army’s place in a democratic society, the training places a strong emphasis on field craft, battle craft, drill, and physical conditioning.

To improve learning and engagement, the curriculum uses cutting-edge simulations and creative teaching tools. This involves using small arms training simulators in addition to conventional fire techniques.

Agniveers are formally inducted into the Army after completing the training and taking part in a Passing Out Parade.

This program is a component of the larger Agnipath Scheme, which seeks to recruit soldiers on a temporary basis with the possibility of regularization for some after four years, contingent on merit. The initiative aims to solve current security issues while developing a military force that is more responsive and nimble.
