An attempt by heavily armed terrorists to infiltrate along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch area of Jammu & Kashmir was successfully stopped by Indian Army troops on January 30, 2025. There was a gunfight between the infiltrators and the army forces during the early hours of the operation. One soldier was wounded during this battle and was later admitted to the hospital.
As part of the army’s swift reaction, more troops were sent to the scene to support continuing combing and search efforts. Forces positioned at the LoC are on high alert to stop any more attempts at cross-border infiltration, according to security authorities.
Given that infiltration attempts by militant organizations continue to be a major worry for Indian security personnel, this incident highlights the ongoing security issues in the area.
