From January 27 to January 29, 2025, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will be in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a formal visit. With an emphasis on strengthening their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, this journey seeks to deepen India-UAE bilateral ties.
In order to assess and discuss the strong partnership between the two countries and to look into new opportunities for cooperation in a variety of areas, Jaishankar is expected to meet with Emirati leaders.
One important part of his trip is giving the keynote speech at the first Raisina Middle East Conference in Abu Dhabi, which provides a forum for regional political discourse.
With more than three million Indian citizens living there and serving as a significant energy supplier, the UAE is an important strategic partner for India. India was the UAE’s second-largest commercial partner in 2023–2024, with bilateral trade totalling over $83.65 billion.
Since their founding in 1972, India and the United Arab Emirates have maintained strong diplomatic ties. Their commercial and strategic connections have been greatly strengthened by a number of high-level exchanges that precede this visit.
It is anticipated that Jaishankar’s visit will provide the developing relationship between India and the UAE fresh impetus, demonstrating both countries’ dedication to strengthening their cooperation across a range of areas.
