MEA Declares “All Our Citizens Are Safe” Regarding the Conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Despite the ongoing turmoil in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has affirmed that all Indian citizens there are safe.

This guarantee comes as the level of violence rises, especially in the area surrounding the eastern city of Goma, where conflicts have caused numerous fatalities and forced evacuees.

At least 700 people have been murdered since the start of 2025, according to the UN, and over 400,000 people have been displaced as a result of the fighting between M23 rebels who are allegedly moving southward toward the capital, Kinshasa.

The Indian government is keeping a careful eye on events and has taken action to protect its citizens in the Democratic Republic of the Congo due to the worsening security situation.

In light of the escalating tensions and humanitarian issues brought on by the violence, the MEA underlined its dedication to safeguarding Indian citizens.
