An important milestone in bilateral defense cooperation has been reached with the signing of the first-ever Defence Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Slovakia and India by Airbornics Defence & Space Pvt Ltd (ADSL), the defence arm of the JCBL Group. This strategic agreement was formally established during President Droupadi Murmu of India’s official state visit to Slovakia, when he was joined by a high-level business group.
.
Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and Make-in-India programs, the agreement focuses on co-developing and manufacturing next-generation technologies for light tanks, Future Ready Combat Vehicles (FRCVs), and Future Infantry Combat Vehicles (FICVs). All production will be conducted domestically in India.
.The development and production of vital combat subsystems, including sophisticated turret systems, Remote-Controlled Weapon Systems (RCWS), Active Protection Systems (APS), and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) modules, will be spearheaded by ADSL as part of this collaboration.
.India’s strategic focus on modernizing its defense capabilities for a variety of operating settings is reflected in these technologies, which are intended to improve combat systems built for high-altitude and challenging terrain environments.
.In line with India’s goal of becoming a worldwide center for defense innovation, the partnership is an example of how trust, technology, and transformation can come together. The collaboration strengthens India’s standing in the international defense industry and advances the Make-in-India goal, according to Rishi Aggarwal, JCBL Group’s managing director.
.
.Additionally, by utilizing Slovakia’s cutting-edge defense experience and India’s strong industrial base, the partnership makes technology transfer from Slovakia easier. It is anticipated that this collaboration would strengthen India’s defense production capacities and create opportunities for future defense exports, expanding India’s defense presence internationally.
