Maharashtra Signs Memorandum of Understanding at Davos Worth ₹4.99 Lakh Crore

Maharashtra signed 20 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹4.99 lakh crore on January 22, 2025, marking a major step in luring investment during the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos. Over 92,000 jobs are anticipated to be created by this effort in a number of industries, including infrastructure, steel, renewable energy, and defence.

In a historic Memorandum of Understanding, the JSW Group committed ₹3 lakh crore to industries like infrastructure, electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy, and steel production. An estimated 10,000 employment would be created in Maharashtra as a result of this investment.

₹30,000 crore was committed to solar energy projects, which are anticipated to generate about 7,500 jobs.

Data centres in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area are to get an investment of ₹25,000 crore.
