Terrorists Destroy Grenades at Army Base in Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir; Search Operation Started

On December 4, 2024, terrorists attacked an army base in Surankote, Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, using grenades. Two grenades were used in the attack, and security personnel have launched a search for the attackers in the vicinity.

Thankfully, the incident did not result in any casualties. According to the officials, the security forces began a search operation shortly after the grenade attack in order to find the terrorists. They claimed that the safety pin of the detonated grenade was discovered close to the Army camp’s outer wall during the search.

Following the incident, the terrorists fled, but the Army and local police initiated a large search effort to find them, according to the officials. An overnight combined search and cordon operation that began Monday night in the upper reaches of Dachigam forest in Harwan, Srinagar, resulted in the neutralization of a terrorist earlier Tuesday.

This tragedy fits into a larger pattern of violence in the area, where terrorist attacks have increased, especially in areas like Rajouri and Poonch. The goal of the current operation is to catch the perpetrators of this attack and improve local security
