In reply to President Macron: Modi accepted Macron’s pleasantries and emphasised the importance of Macron’s attendance at the Republic Day parade the year before, referring to it as a turning point in their strategic alliance. “Thank you so much for your warm wishes on India’s 76th Republic Day,” he said. In reply to Prime Minister Martin: In his letter to Martin, Modi conveyed his belief that the long-standing friendship between Ireland and India, which is based on similar democratic principles, will only grow stronger. He said, “I am confident that the enduring bonds of friendship between India and Ireland… will continue to strengthen in times to come” .
Several guests, including Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, attended the Republic Day events, which highlighted India’s military might and cultural diversity. Modi also acknowledged the congratulations he received from other leaders in Bhutan, Thailand, Nepal, and the Maldives.
