PM Modi Receives Warm Welcome From Emmanuel Macron Ahead of AI Summit

Before the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron greeted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Macron gave Modi a hearty hug at a welcome meal at the Elysee Palace.

Macron greeted Narendra Modi with a post on X, saying, “Welcome to Paris, my buddy @NarendraModi! Nice to meet you, @VP Vance! Welcome to all of our partners at the AI Action Summit.”

PM Modi had dinner with other foreign leaders, including US Vice President JD Vance. This was the first encounter between Modi and Vance since the latter took office last month.

During his three-day visit, Modi will co-chair the AI Action Summit alongside Macron and have bilateral meetings to boost India-France’s strategic alliance. The two leaders will also officially open India’s first consulate in Marseille. They will also visit the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille to remember Indian servicemen who perished in World War I. Modi’s journey will end with a visit to Cadarache, the location of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER).

When PM Modi arrived in Paris, he was hailed by the Indian community. He conveyed his appreciation, saying, “A memorable welcome in Paris!” The freezing weather did not discourage the Indian community from expressing their adoration this evening. We are grateful to our diaspora and proud of their successes.
