Based in Bengaluru A major milestone has been reached by NeoSky India Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of RattanIndia Enterprises, which has successfully finished testing its precision munition-dropping drone platforms with the Indian Army.

The trials, which were announced on May 26, 2025, are in line with the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Made in India programs and mark a significant leap in India’s domestic defense capabilities. A significant step toward incorporating cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems (UAS) into the Indian Army’s tactical operations and boosting its efficacy in contemporary combat, these tests showed the drones’ capacity to perform high-precision hits.

The Indian Army thoroughly examined NeoSky’s drone platforms, created under its subsidiary Throttle Aerospace Systems (TAS), with an emphasis on their ability to drop precision weapons with pinpoint accuracy.

To evaluate the drones’ sophisticated navigation, payload delivery systems, and autonomous capabilities, rigorous testing was done. The outcomes confirmed the efficacy of NeoSky’s cutting-edge technology, which includes AI-powered systems for logistics, precision strikes, and surveillance.

The Indian Army gains a tactical advantage in contested areas thanks to these capabilities, which are essential for eliminating high-value targets including enemy bunkers, vehicles, and terrorist infrastructure.

NeoSky’s demonstrated proficiency in producing military-grade unmanned aerial systems, such as the Defender anti-drone system and the TALV-TACT for tactical operations, is strengthened by the success of these trials. Advanced AI and machine learning capabilities on the company’s drones allow for autonomous target acquisition and real-time decision-making.

NeoSky’s platforms are built for adaptability and high-altitude missions, making them appropriate for complicated operations along the Line of Control (LoC) and Line of Actual Control (LAC). They have demonstrated beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) capabilities and can carry payloads of over 20 kg.

The development of drones suited to India’s operational requirements has been greatly aided by NeoSky’s Bangalore plant, which boasts cutting-edge manufacturing and testing capabilities. The company’s manufacturing capabilities were further strengthened in 2022 when it acquired a 60% interest in Throttle Aerospace Systems, allowing it to produce drones with more than 75% domestic content. The Nagastra-1 hovering munition, which was created in partnership with Solar Industries, is one such example.

The current tests are a part of a larger trend in the Indian Army’s use of loitering munitions and precision munition-dropping drones, which reflects the changing nature of warfare where quick, inexpensive, and powerful strikes are becoming more and more important.

Recent operations like Operation Sindoor, which used Bangalore-made SkyStriker hovering bombs to target terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), have highlighted this change. The successful NeoSky trials further solidify Bengaluru’s position as a center for cutting-edge defense innovation and manufacturing.
