Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VVDN Technologies Pvt Ltd to work together on domestic manufacturing and technology development, with the goal of increasing India’s self-reliance in the defence and professional electronics industries.
VVDN, known for its capabilities in software, electronics engineering, and product manufacturing, will collaborate with BEL to expedite indigenous design and manufacturing in cutting-edge technology fields.
The strategic cooperation will concentrate on the collaborative development and production of Wi-Fi and 5G networking subsystems, which are critical for sophisticated communication systems. In addition, the collaboration will include software and networking solutions, radar technology, and naval communication systems.
The scope also includes applications for Indian Railways and other vital areas, demonstrating a comprehensive strategy to enhancing India’s technical strengths across industries.
This MoU, signed by Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of BEL, and Vivek Bansal, Co-Founder and President of VVDN, is seen as a key step toward supporting innovation and commercialization of mission-critical technology.
The collaboration is consistent with the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat policy, which prioritizes local production and technical innovation in high-impact industries like defense and communications. Both firms are optimistic that this public-private partnership will increase India’s strategic autonomy and minimize reliance on imports by building next-generation networking systems for defense, smart infrastructure, and secure connectivity.
BEL delivers its tradition and expertise in producing mission-critical systems for the Indian Armed Forces, while VVDN brings cutting-edge capabilities in electronics design, embedded systems, and telecom infrastructure. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the development and deployment of complex system solutions, bolstering India’s domestic defense ecosystem.
