On January 11, 2025, the Army Day Mela, also known as the “Know Your Army Mela,” will be held in Bengaluru at the Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground on Cubbon Road from 8 AM to 4 PM. The 77th Indian Army Day celebrations, which honor the 1949 handover of command to Field Marshal K M Cariappa, include this event.
It is expected that about 10,000 people will take part in this outreach program to build relationships between the Army and civilians.
Army bands will perform at the event, and there will be displays highlighting the relationship between soldiers and their working animals, such as horses and dogs.
Participants will have the opportunity to partake in a range of activities, such as:
The Tornadoes Motorcycle Display Team displays a daredevil motorcycle.
Drone demonstrations and paramotor gliding.
chances to ride horses and operate Army vehicles in simulators.
Informative and Educational Booths
exhibits offering information on Army technology and operations.
Details about veterans’ aid and recruitment opportunities.
Food vendors serving a range of cuisines and medical assistance services.
“This event is a tribute to the dedication of soldiers and aims to bridge the gap between the military and the public,” Major General V T Mathew stressed. It is intended to inspire future generations to think about a career in the military by educating attendees about military life and operations in addition to providing entertainment.
With the goal of reestablishing ties with communities and showcasing the Indian Army’s capabilities in a dynamic and captivating way, this year’s Mela is a major outreach initiative, particularly in light of the difficulties caused by COVID-19.
