External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar took part in the interactive “Youth for a Viksit Bharat” program at Hansraj College in New Delhi on January 30, 2025. He stressed throughout the ceremony the importance of young people in creating a developed India, or “Viksit Bharat.” “Without youth, there is no Viksit Bharat,” Jaishankar said, emphasizing that India’s earlier development models have lagged behind the progress of other Asian countries like as China, Japan, and Korea.
In order to promote growth and development, Jaishankar talked on the need for a contemporary approach to governance and policymaking. He claimed that “Viksit Rajdhani, Viksit Delhi, is central to Viksit Bharat” and that Delhi, as the capital, plays a significant role in establishing norms for national development.
Along with talking about the role of youth in the advancement of the country, Jaishankar also considered his own political career and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s management style. He commended Modi as a “tough” and “motivational” leader who enables his staff to carry out their duties in an efficient manner. He pointed to Modi’s leadership style, which inspires rather than merely teaches, as evidenced by the successful evacuation of Indians from Ukraine.
