Gajendra Shekhawat Applauds Prime Minister Modi’s Attempts to Reestablish Indian Diaspora Connections

India’s Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat recently commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to re-establish ties between the Indian diaspora and their homeland. He underlined the significance of the occasion in honoring the cultural influence and contributions of the Indian diaspora around the world while speaking at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar.

The Chalo India campaign, which encourages Indian diaspora members to serve as ambassadors for Indian tourism, was highlighted by Shekhawat. This program seeks to create a sense of community among Indians residing overseas while promoting India’s rich cultural legacy and popular travel destinations. To further encourage travel to India, the campaign offers one lakh free e-tourist visas to foreign tourists who are recommended by diaspora members.

The minister pointed out that these initiatives are part of a larger plan led by Modi to strengthen economic and cultural ties with the Indian community around the world. Such initiatives, according to Shekhawat, not only honor Indian heritage but also make a substantial contribution to the country’s tourism industry, which is expected to grow into a key economic engine.
